Come Make Memories

Family Activities

Family vacations on Amelia Island are a natural. The island is easy to reach by car or by plane, and once there, families can enjoy relaxing quiet time together, or hit the ground with a full-on outdoor invasion.  With no shortage of things to do, it’s no wonder families come back year after year.

From river cruises to kayaking, horseback riding to Segway tours, the little island is big on fun and exciting ways to burn a day or a week.  At Fort Clinch State Park, uniformed period re-enactors share a realistic look at garrison life, giving kids an historic perspective on how good they have it today.  The Amelia Island Museum of History gives families a chance to enjoy walking tours of Historic Center Street and seasonal ghost tours for those interested in a paranormal look at the island’s past.

Two of the islands resorts – Amelia Island Plantation and the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island – offer great programs for kids and teens.  Kids Camp Amelia at Amelia Island Plantation caters to children ages 3-10, with an exciting line-up of crafts, swimming and zany island fun. The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island offers an exclusive supervised children's program for guests age 5-12, and a new Our Space program designed just for teens.
