Amelia Island Opera and Woman’s Club of Fernandina Beach are proud to present Engelbert Humperdinck’s enchanting opera Hansel and Gretel. When Hansel and Gretel find themselves lost in the forest, they stumble upon a house made of gingerbread. Unable to resist temptation, the siblings begin eating the house only to be captured by the witch who lives there. From the exquisite “Evening Prayer” to the uproarious “Witch’s Ride,” this whimsical masterpiece is packed with musical gems that make it a wonderful experience for people of all ages! From seasoned opera goers to the person who has never stepped foot inside an opera house, this story is sure to delight all!
This fully staged production will be sung in English with piano accompaniment and will have a running time of 1 hour and 30 minutes, with one 15-minute intermission.
