If you’re looking for a challenging yet fair course layout for all players, Amelia River is the one for you. This Tom Jackson designed course offers 18-holes of smooth TifEagle greens all in a natural setting lined with ancient oaks, palmettos and southern pines. Jackson took full advantage of what nature laid before him, utilizing both water and land. The signature hole #17 is a par 3 over water and onto an island green so your shot here better be pretty accurate. Grab a tasty bite to eat at the River Bar & Grill or purchase some AR merchandise from the newly renovated clubhouse. Planning a wedding? They can handle that, too!
“Beautiful 27-hole course and the best golf value on the island.” That phrase is repeated time and time again when describing the Fernandina Beach Golf Club where each of the three nine-hole layouts offer generous fairways, plenty of native foliage, and impeccable greens. New to FBGC is The Lighthouse driving range powered by Toptracer. This is the ultimate virtual golf experience on Amelia Island where you can practice like the pros or play courses from around the world. Hungry or thirsty? The Grille Room is the ideal place for a quick bite on the turn, hearty breakfast, or beer to cry in after your round.
Located on property at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, The Golf Club of Amelia Island is a Mark McCumber and Gene Littler course design and is challenging yet forgiving, with water that comes into play on 13 of it’s 18-holes. Winding through woods with the Atlantic ocean nearby, this course provides stands of gorgeous moss-draped oaks all along the front nine while rolling marshes and more water come into play on the back nine. After your round, gather with friends and reward yourselves with a stunning view of the 18th Hole and delicious cocktails and cuisine from The Legends Lounge.
Built shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, Oak Marsh Golf Course is another classic Pete Dye-design stretching 6,500 yards at par 72 and featuring tight fairways, bulkheads, and seemingly tiny greens that make full use of meandering creeks and marshland. Located on the property of Omni Amelia Island Resort, Oak Marsh is open to the public and gives players what they want – a fun course to play with outstanding scenery. “Bring your A-game because the wind can make for some tricky shots.” After play, relax with lunch and libations on the large outdoor terrace that overlooks hole #9. A great ending to a great day on the links.
Guests of Omni Amelia Island Resort have access to play Long Point and the newest 10-hole short course, Little Sandy. Long Point is a member-only private golf course within the resort and was named one of the top twenty courses in Florida. This course features Tom Fazio at his best in three distinct environments – marshes, thick forests, and stunning ocean dunes – all with Fazio’s touches like big waste bunkers and huge undulating greens. Little Sandy recently made it’s debut on April 15 and has been entertaining guests of OAIR ever since. Designed by Beau Welling, Little Sandy features 10 holes nestled around Red Maple Lake, ranging from 70 to 125 yards and provides a traditional, yet fun-focused golf experience for all ages and abilities.
