Welcome to Amelia Island’s Indie bookstore, where you can shop for books, sip delicious coffee, signature wine, or craft beer, pick up a creative greeting card and unique gift, and/or dine on a delicious breakfast or lunch. Enjoy the ambiance of the bistro and outdoor patio while dining on specialties, including the Little Paris Bookshop Quiche of the Day, Ina’s Chicken Salad Croissant, A Walk in the Woods Wheatberry Salad, American and Mediterranean paninis, and homemade soup!

With seating for 125 theatre-style or 66 for banquets, the upstairs art gallery and event space (with elevator access) at Story & Song Center for Arts & Culture is an attractive alternative to more sterile meeting rooms. Surrounded by art from local artists, books, and hand-crafted gifts, the setting is perfect for small groups or wedding parties. Full-service catering from our bistro is available.

Island Art Association - Critique Group

An open discussion and critique group meets on the last Saturday of each month at Story & Song Bookstore Bistro from 12:00 noon-2:00 pm. All mediums are welcome. Artists may bring works in progress to receive the group’s support and views. Story & Song’s Bistro offers a breakfast and lunch menu.

Festival Storytelling Workshop: “Cooking Up Stories”

Telling stories is as natural and vital as eating a meal or taking a breath! This workshop welcomes everyone: writers curious about the oral word, those who want to explore their personal experiences and those who simply love stories. As we focus our attention, we are often surprised and always refreshed by a wellspring of stories that enrich our lives – personally, professionally, artistically, and spiritually. So join us if you’d like to cook up some tasty and satisfying stories! “Cooking Up Stories” is a Storytelling Workshop hosted by Connie Regan-Blake, one of America’s most celebrated storytellers. She has captivated the hearts and imaginations of people around the globe with her powerful performances and workshops. Entertaining audiences in 47 states,18 countries, and 6 continents she brings the wisdom, humor, and drama of stories to main-stage concert halls, libraries, and into the corporate world.

Festival Storytelling: Historical Figures

Cora Newcomb will be presenting “Bringing American Women’s History into Focus – the Story of Laura Matilda Towne,” an American abolitionist and educator. Towne was the co-founder of the Penn Center on St. Helena Island, S.C., the first school in the US for newly freed slaves. After, Diane Johnson “Zora Listened! This performance utilizes a monologue storytelling style with audience engagement and acapella music. Zora Neale Hurston (1891-1960) was an African American author, playwright, poet, anthropologist and folklorist who took a job with the Federal Writers’ Project and collected stories, songs, and poems from African-Americans living in northeast Florida. Zora truly listened to the people. Come hear her speak, laugh, and sing as she revisits those memorable years.

The crew at Story & Song is ready to meet all of your needs with attentive service, a broad variety of menu items and beverages, high quality stage, sound and audio-visual set-up and a private, intimate setting in our Art Gallery.

We specialize in “life event” celebrations such as baby showers, milestone anniversaries, and birthday parties for all ages. We also host corporate training and evening events, and simple gatherings with friends, too.
